Himalayan 452cc

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 is the latest generation of RE’s iconic adventure motorcycle, redesigned from the ground up with a modern, more powerful and capable platform. At its heart is a 452 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder DOHC engine that produces around 40 PS of power and 40 Nm of torque, making it substantially more powerful than the previous 411 cc air-cooled version and better suited for both on-road cruising and off-road touring. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slip-and-assist clutch, which enhances control and reduces rider fatigue on long journeys.

Built on a twin-spar tubular steel frame with the engine as a stressed member, the Himalayan 452 delivers improved rigidity and handling. The bike features 43 mm upside-down (USD) front forks and a pre-load adjustable rear monoshock, both offering about 200 mm of wheel travel for excellent suspension compliance on rough terrain. Braking is handled by ByBre disc brakes (320 mm front, 270 mm rear) with dual-channel ABS that can be switchable depending on the variant. It rides on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with dual-purpose tyres for balanced road and trail performance.

Himalayan 411cc

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 cc is a purpose‑built adventure touring motorcycle designed to handle a wide variety of terrains, from rough mountain trails to paved highways. It’s known for its rugged simplicity, upright ergonomics, and rider‑friendly character that makes long rides comfortable and confident.

  • Peak Torque: ~40 Nm @ 5500 rpm
  • Compression Ratio: 11.5 : 1
  • Clutch: Wet multiplate with assist & slipper
  • Gearbox: 6-speed manual

Key Features of Himalayan 452 and 411 cc

1. Chassis & Suspension

The Himalayan 452 rides on a robust twin-spar tubular steel frame, which is a significant upgrade over the older model and uses the engine as a stressed member for improved rigidity and handling stability. Its front suspension features 43 mm upside-down (USD) forks with approximately 200 mm of wheel travel, giving better damping response and control over rough terrain. At the rear, a linkage-type monoshock with around 200 mm of travel delivers a balanced blend of comfort and capability whether you’re tackling uneven trails or cruising on highways.

2. Braking & Safety

The Himalayan 452 is equipped with upgraded disc brakes — a large 320 mm ventilated disc at the front with a dual-piston caliper and a 270 mm ventilated disc at the rear with a single-piston caliper — providing strong and progressive stopping power suitable for both paved roads and adventure terrain.

3. Electronics & Connectivity

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 cc features a modern Electronics & Connectivity setup that enhances both convenience and riding experience. It is equipped with a 4-inch full-color TFT digital instrument cluster that displays speed, RPM, trip details, gear position, fuel level, and service alerts in a clear, easy-to-read format. The system supports Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, enabling turn-by-turn navigation powered by Google Maps, along with call and message notifications directly on the screen.

4. Wheels & Tires

The Wheels & Tires setup on the Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 cc is designed to support true adventure-bike capability both on paved roads and off-road trails. It comes with a 21-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, a classic combination for adventure motorcycles that helps with stability over rough terrain and better roll-over ability on obstacles. The stock tyres typically fitted are 90/90-21 at the front and 140/80-17 at the rear, giving a good balance of grip and cushioning for mixed surfaces.
