Day-wise plan of your Himalayan motorcycle adventure

Day 01: Delhi – Manali (Overnight Volvo Bus)

Arrive at the Delhi Volvo station by 04:00 PM and board the overnight Volvo bus for Manali. Enjoy a comfortable overnight journey through the mountains.

Day 02: Arrive in Manali – Ride to Shoja

Morning arrival in Manali followed by a freshen-up at the guest house. After checking the bikes, load your luggage into the backup jeep and begin your ride towards Jibhi/Shoja.

Descend into the scenic Banjar Valley, with frequent photo stops along the way. The route offers surreal views and remains relatively untouched by mass tourism. On arrival, check in at the guest house. Overnight stay at Shoja.

Day 03: Shoja – Rampur – Sangla (210 km / 7 hrs)

After breakfast, ride from Shoja to Sangla via the breathtaking Jalori Pass (3,223 m). Sangla is a charming village set against the majestic Kinner Kailash range. Check in at the hotel on arrival. Evening free to explore Sangla village. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Sangla – Chitkul – Nako (180 km / 7 hrs)

After an early breakfast, ride to Chitkul, the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibetan border. Enjoy village walks, interact with locals, and admire pristine Himalayan scenery.

Ride back through the stunning Baspa Valley and continue towards Nako. En route, stop at the dramatic Khab Sangam, where the Spiti and Sutlej rivers meet.

Upon arrival in Nako, visit the serene Nako Lake and explore the village known for its ancient monasteries and mud-brick houses. Overnight stay at a guest house in Nako.

Day 05: Nako – Lepcha – Gue – Tabo – Dhankar – Kaza (170 km / 6 hrs)

Begin your ride towards the remote Lepcha village near the Indo-Tibetan border, offering raw landscapes and a true sense of isolation.

Continue to Gue Gompa, famous for the naturally preserved mummy of a Buddhist monk, then ride onward to Tabo to visit the legendary Tabo Monastery, known as the “Ajanta of the Himalayas.”

Later, explore the cliff-top Dhankar Gompa before riding to Kaza, the heart of Spiti Valley. Check in at the guest house and relax. Overnight stay in Kaza.

Day 06: Kaza – Chicham – Kee – Langza – Komic – Hikkim

After breakfast, ride to Chicham Village crossing the iconic Chicham Bridge. Visit Kee Monastery, then continue to the high-altitude villages of Langza, Komic, and Hikkim—among the highest inhabited villages in the world. Return to Kaza for overnight stay.

Day 07: Kaza – Chandra Taal (100 km / 5 hrs)

Morning visit to Ki Monastery before riding towards Chandra Taal via Kunzum Pass, offering stunning views of the CB ranges. On arrival, check in at the camp and enjoy an evening walk to the Moon Lake. Overnight stay at camp.

Day 08: Chandra Taal – Manali (120 km / 7 hrs)

Ride from Chandra Taal to Manali via one of the most challenging routes of the trip, crossing the Atal Tunnel. Evening departure from Manali by overnight Volvo bus to Delhi.

Day 09: Arrival in Delhi

Morning arrival in Delhi. End of services with unforgettable memories of the Spiti Valley Bike Trip.

Day 01: Delhi – Manali

560 km | Approx. 12 hrs | Overnight Volvo

Arrive at Delhi Volvo station at 04:00 PM and board the bus for Manali. Overnight journey in Volvo bus.

Day 02: Manali – Atal Tunnel – Keylong / Jispa

100 km | Approx. 8 hrs

Morning arrival in Manali and check-in at the guest house for freshening up. After breakfast, begin your motorbike journey towards Jispa. Ride through the iconic Atal Tunnel and scenic villages of Lahaul Valley. This marks your first ride on the legendary Manali–Leh Highway.

Overnight stay at camp/hotel.

Day 03: Jispa – Baralacha La – Sarchu – Tanglang La – Leh

300 km | Approx. 8 hrs

Start early at 7:30 AM and ride across some of the most dramatic landscapes of the Manali–Leh Highway. Cross Baralacha La, Sarchu, More Plains, and Tanglang La before reaching Leh.

Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 04: Leh – Khardung La – Nubra Valley

130 km | Approx. 8 hrs

Ride to Nubra Valley via Khardung La (18,390 ft), one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Enjoy panoramic views of the Indus Valley and endless peaks.

Overnight stay at Nubra Valley.

Day 05: Nubra – Pangong Lake via Shyok Valley

160 km | Approx. 8 hrs

Early morning ride through the scenic Shyok Valley towards Pangong Lake. Experience raw landscapes and river crossings.

Day 06: Pangong – Rezang La – Umling La – Koyul

230 km | Approx. 8 hrs

Visit Rezang La War Memorial and continue towards Umling La (19,200 ft), the world’s highest motorable road. Ride along the India–Tibet border before reaching the remote village of Koyul.

Overnight stay at Koyul.

Day 07: Koyul – Leh

250 km | Approx. 6 hrs

Ride back to Leh via Chumathang and Mahe Bridge, following the Indus River through classic Ladakhi landscapes.

Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 08: Leh – Lamayuru – Mulbekh – Kargil (LOC Visit)

240 km | Approx. 7 hrs

Visit Magnetic Hill, Lamayuru Monastery, and the Mulbekh Buddha Statue. Later, experience a rare LOC visit near Kargil.

Overnight stay at Kargil.

Day 09: Kargil – Shuru Valley – Pensi La – Padum

230 km | Approx. 6 hrs

Ride through Shuru Valley, witness Nun–Kun peaks, Drang Drung Glacier, and cross Pensi La into Zanskar Valley.
